Anwar and Shannel and the entire staff at The Grand Event Design & Decor are incredibly talented and go above and beyond to provide attention and detail for their clients. I have seen their work first hand and am always impressed with their professionalism, creativity and hard work. Tuscaloosa is lucky to have them!! Beware!! Anwar and Shannel ruined my wedding and did not care. From the beginning Shannel often times did not return phone calls because she was overwhelmed. Her communication skills were extremely poor with me and my wedding planner. She even made statements belittling my ideas, telling me that they were "stupid." They overcharged us and then both lied when asked about it. We spent $10k on decor and even the workers of the venue were shocked with what was presented. When I tried to reach Shannel before the wedding to discuss, she refused to answer. We couldn't get any good shots at the venue because it was decorated so poorly. Our photographer offered us additional pictures post wedding because he felt bad. Her and Anwar were both aware we were upset and did not try to address it. Even though Anwar was there in plain clothes, he never chose to speak to us about the situation. By the end of the wedding, we discovered he was there the whole time and asked several questions. This made him and and an employee upset. His employee got so upset that he cursed at me and my mother, causing my sister and cousin to intervene. I was completely embarrassed and upset that on my wedding day, my vendor was unable to control his employee. My wedding day was impacted so much and we NEVER heard anything, not even an apology from Shannel. Anwar and her have shown they support this behavior and have no remorse for how they made their bride feel on their wedding day. Run away fast! There are so many better vendors that charge less and care more!

Shannel Aiken and Ryan Davidson from The Grand Event are an exceptional team. They designed a Gatsby Gala for the Literacy Council of West Alabama this past weekend that would have even wowed Daisy herself! I mean from the signage, to the billboard eyes, to the feathers everywhere - it was sight to see! And they did it all seamlessly! I cannot even tell you what this meant to all us at LCWA! They are just fabulous!
