I had a session with Tara Yates today, and it was by far the best hour I’ve had in a long time. The facial massage techniques and aromatherapy session she used were incredible. Before each step, she explained what she was doing and made sure I felt comfortable. For the first time in a long while, my skin feels this radiant and soft. As someone who struggles with anxiety, it was the first time in ages that the noise in my head quieted down, and I felt truly relaxed. I left the session feeling extremely happy and at peace.

From 2020-2022 enrollment. Textbook used was from 2008. No help from instructor that admittedly didn't know how to use the program he was responsible for teaching. When taking the design certification tests I found that I was almost totally unprepared although I was an "A" student. I BARELY passed those tests. They were full of topics and terminology I had never been taught. The online instruction was insufficient and the in person instruction was nearly non existent.

I can’t agree with some of the negative comments being made about instructors specifically in the HVAC program. I am a current student here at TCAT, and yes the program has its flaws but you get out of it what you put into it. The teachers in the program have a wealth of experience in this trade, and are happy to share and talk about it. Haven’t had one issue with instructors, or other TCAT employees. Respect is earned not given and if you show them respect it will reciprocated.

I want to give honest feedback and draw attention to the TCAT Nashville, specifically the HVAC program. I’m a current student and wanted to wait an extended period of time in the program to give my thoughts and feelings about the school, the program, the instructors. I hope this finds parents of incoming students, students themselves or potential persons of a trade looking to get into teaching at a higher education level. I joined the program back in Sept 2024 and have been thoroughly impressed with my time under various instructors. From the first time on campus to now, 10 months into a 17 month program it has been a very smooth ride. Making a career change out of a decade of Active Duty Military service to a technical school trade learning environment has been better than I could’ve expected. From day 1, the instruction and knowledge from the primary instructors to even students having a small background in the trade has immensely helped my transition to higher learning and a hopeful longstanding and successful career in HVAC. The instructors, Derrick Brown, Dennis Alvey, Ken Beckman, Ken Sawyer take 80+ combined years in the trade and apply them to students like me from the first minute you sit down. As a veteran in the school system, the Vice President and President of the school have shown nothing but respect and appreciation for many veteran students like me. Between the instruction we receive and the countless hours preparing students such as myself for upcoming test, hands-on learning, and practical scenarios on the job, it’s been an awesome experience. To the parents, incoming students, potential instructors, this is a top tier school, top tier program and a class A professional learning environment.

Reading a certain review on this site has sparked my concern. As someone currently in this program and recently in class with this individual, this is false information. It was a dead giveaway who this student is. Me and plenty of other students would happily attest to the statement made about her son. The program has some missing pieces…as does Harvard. Mr.Alvey, Ken Beckman, Derek Brown, and Ken Sawyer are wonderful teachers, Providing all the materials needed to succeed in this program and out in the field. Any student who fails in this program or makes a post disrespecting the teacher is the problem. I have seen this student and his actions first hand. Commonly late to class, high as a kite, disrespecting teachers, disruptive in class… The list could go on forever. Success is not given, it’s earned. This student is the kind of person your parents raised you not to be in class. If you’re coming on a school page to bash a teacher, maybe you should consider teaching your son how to behave in class. Lacking as a mother does not give you the right to accuse others of your own issues.

Frequently Asked Questions

What surface can tents be installed on?
Most tents stake into grass. Concrete and asphalt installs require water-barrel anchors or weighted bases — available for an additional fee.
How far in advance should I book?
Tent rentals for large events (weddings, corporate) should be booked 4-8 weeks ahead. Smaller canopies can sometimes be booked a week out.
Are tents weatherproof?
Quality event tents are designed for wind and light rain. However, extreme weather events may require postponement — confirm the cancellation policy.
What size tent do I need?
A general rule: 8-10 sq ft per guest for seated dining, 6 sq ft for standing cocktail events. The rental company can help you size correctly.
Is setup and takedown included?
Yes — professional installation and takedown are standard. Setup typically happens the day before and takedown the day after your event.
